Lack of Planning

There won't be a new page this weekend. I have to get a bunch of edits done for chapter 2 and get the whole thing properly formatted for print before January. XD

Also, I've decided that Chapter 2 should end at around page 44, meaning that the comic is already 16 pages into Chapter 3: now titled "Luna." This will make the current volume one chapter longer, but I really think it's the best thing to do when it comes to print and keeping things consistent.

One thing I'm a little worried about is moving all those pages into a Chapter 3 category and changing the page numbers. Will all the comments be lost? I would also need to insert a new cover before those pages and I don't know how to do that XD. It seems like it might be easier just to delete pages 45-60 and re-upload them in the new category, but I'd feel bad about deleting all the nice feedback :[

If anyone knows how to go about this in the most non-destructive way, I'd really appreciate the help XD

Rrgh, all of this has taught me that I really should have a complete script done before I start on a chapter, rather than just a basic outline. Also, I should learn to hold some ideas back for the sake of the chapter's length, if nothing else -- sometimes the story can really get away from me when a new idea pops up mid-chapter >_>

I haven't added things in before, but I think you could back-date the entry to the date that fit in between the end of ch2 and the start of ch3? I bet that would add it in the right spot! My chapters in my wordpress are set up so that the tags for chapter 3 lead to things being archived in the chapter 3 category, so if I wanted to I could change the tag to ch 2 and it would move there. If you system is similar maybe that would work (or maybe I am telling you stuff you already know XD) Anyways, better late than never when it comes to realizing the importance of scripting and planning (I still suffer from this myself :B)
Ah, thanks! Just tried that out on a test page. Dating it to a point between the existing pages works wonderfully, and I can change the file's name in FTP without causing any problems. Looks like this won't be too destructive after all :D

Haha, definitely. I've already started on a real script for chapter 3... er 4 XD.
Scripting is a very good thing indeed. I know we're personally late on releasing our current project for that very fact, but in the meantime my artist is building up quite a buffer for herself. I think having a solid outline is good, but I found it leaves me with too many options of proceeding and follow through that is far to open ended for my tastes.. Especially if you find midway through that your train of thought no longer matches your current tastes and you throw a derailment of plot into the mix to see where it all goes. I honestly still think Everblue is a story very much so at the beginning of its storytelling so you have a lot of leg room to move about. Good luck to you and cheers on making it this far regardless.
Agreed XD. My problem was that I kind of liked working without a strict script, and didn't think about the trouble it could cause later on. I wish I had realized this partway through chapter one instead, but better now than before it really starts to effect things.

I think it's great the amount of time and effort you're putting into just starting your project up. I'm really looking forward to it now :]

Thanks!
Just curious--What made you decide to print Ch 2 before Ch 1?
Most of chapter one was drawn at way below print resolution, while most of chapter two is already print friendly (just requiring a few new pages at the beginning). The last thing I want to do is ask people to pay for crappy blown-up prints XD, so chapter one will have to wait :B
